Use the client from request setup. These examples assume api, userAddress, and the returned songId are available. api includes the session token and selected account headers. A ready edit normally has result.take. Keep the candidate ID and preview its audio before changing the saved project.

Select a take as the saved base

For a master or existing stem, this selects its audio. For a Layer candidate, it creates a new unmuted stem. If you supply stemId, it must match the take’s target. The browser app can mount an overlay locally without persisting it. A REST base activation changes the saved selection; use local UI state for temporary comparisons.

Merge the candidate’s recorded region

Without composition, this uses the take’s existing region and source offset. It needs a recorded region. Use client-rendered merge for several candidates, shifted placements, or original-plus-layer mixing.

Discard an inactive candidate

An active take cannot be discarded through this editor route. Reload /api/songs/{songId} or history after a selection or merge. Repeated status reads can report a candidate as merged or discarded; it may no longer be available for activation.
