# Read lyric alignment

## Path and query

**songId** `string` *required*

Owned song ID.

**language** `string`

Requested vocal language.

## Response

Returns the cached lyric state: `lyrics`, `vocalLanguage`, `alignment` and `status` (`cached`, `transcribing`, `aligning`, `none`). [Process lyrics](https://docs.rawchunks.space/dev/endpoints/editing/lyrics.md) to extract or align them.

The [alignment structure](https://docs.rawchunks.space/dev/endpoints/editing/lyrics.md#alignment-structure) supplies word and line timing in seconds. A read can start missing transcription or alignment in the background; follow `status` until cached.
