# Create accompaniment

> Generate a backing arrangement around your source.

Choose **ACCOMPANY** in AI Studio when you need several instruments around a vocal, melody, or other source.

1. Focus the source lane, or Master. Select a range for a shorter passage.
2. Open **FOCUS** and choose **Full Band**, **Rhythm Section**, **Cinematic Orchestra**, **Electronic Production**, or **Acoustic Ensemble**.
3. Under **ACTIVE TRACK CLASSES**, add or remove the instrument groups you want.
4. Describe the backing: “Brushed drums, upright bass and quiet piano behind the vocal,” for example. Open **LYRICS** if needed.
5. Select **ACCOMPANY** and wait for the result. This operation uses **Flexible** mode.

Example project in the current Rawchunks app.

The completed result appears as a take in the focused lane, stem matrix, or **+N** vault. Use its play icon to listen, then [keep it with the take controls](https://docs.rawchunks.space/app/takes-merge.md). Online processing uses your [session budget](https://docs.rawchunks.space/app/payments.md).

For a single new instrument, use [Layer](https://docs.rawchunks.space/app/layer.md).
